Hankook Tire celebrates its fifth year as a principal sponsor of TUNE IT! SAFE! at the Essen Motor Show


Seoul, Korea 30 November 2009 - The year 2009 marks the fifth consecutive year Hankook Tire will continue to lend its support, as a principal sponsor for the tuning initiative TUNE IT! SAFE!, which will begin at the Essen Motor Show this year.

TUNE IT! SAFE! is an initiative for safe and professional tuning, operated by the German Federal Ministry of Transport and non-profit association Verband der Automobil Tuner e.V. (VDAT).

Like every year, in 2009, TUNE IT! SAFE! will present a tuned car outfitted like a police vehicle. Unveiled at the Essen Motor Show, the car will travel to additional trade fairs, exhibitions, and events over the course of the year, drawing attention, and serving as an ambassador for the campaign. The official 2010 TUNE IT! SAFE! model vehicle will be a BMW 123 D coupe, upgraded by AC Schnitzer, with a police design, and equipped with Hankook Tire’s high-performance tires, the 235/30 R 20 size Ventus S1 evo.

In addition, the Hankook Tire trade fair booth at the Essen Motor Show will display high-powered vehicles including the all-wheel drive Porche Turbo from Jurgen Alzen Motorsport, RUF Automobile’s eRUF Coupe, and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 710 Christian Audigier Edition. Each of these luxury vehicles will be equipped with Hankook Tire’s Ventus line tires, which offers a dependable, performance-oriented, and comfortable experience for drivers at top speeds.
