Non-Japanese automakers were absent from the Tokyo Auto Show 2009. The show was dominated by Toyota, Honda and Nissan. The complete auto show looked like a lonesome affair for the Japanese auto makers. Automakers like Volkswagen, BMW , GM & Ford did not take part in this show.
All of them attended the previous show in 2007.
Most of automakers are now banking on china and not Japan as the next biggest emerging market.
BRIC countries are emerging as the most popular destinations for the auto makers around the globe. These are Brazil, Russia, India and China.
Auto Show in New Delhi is coming up in January 2010 and global auto majors have already designed their plans and strategies for the upcoming auto show in India. Foreign auto makers are blaming recession for staying away of Tokyo Auto Show 2009.
